Years 7 & 8 are a great time for students to challenge themselves and maximise their learning. The Selective Entry Exam provides an avenue of expression for those who can raise the bar high in terms of academic achievement.
We, at Melbourne Tutorials, have extensive experience in guiding students towards academic excellence through Selective Entry exam preparation based on conceptual enrichment and rigorous practice. Special emphasis is continued on various test components- Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Mathematics and Numerical Reasoning under conditions that mirror the actual exam.
Years 9 and 10 also provide avenues for Selective Entry admission for those, displaying perseverance and single-minded commitment.
The selective entry curriculum is quite extensive in content – minimum one year ahead of the current year the student is in. We also run parallel classes for students who wish to study the normal curriculum.
During this phase students consolidate life skills related to self-management , organising and following a study routine and working with peers.
Individual children’s learning needs are addressed by placing them in compatible learning groups for optimised learning experience.
