Lower primary is where a child's relationship with learning is formed. Our programs across Grades 1 to 4 are built to keep that relationship curious while the academic fundamentals are laid down in earnest.
Lower Primary
The edifice of a person's learning is built on strong foundations of lower primary education. Australian schools provide one of the best arenas for imparting play and activity based learning, where students are encouraged to interact with their surroundings and the environment as part of their Being, Belonging and Becoming.
On the flip side, in such a scenario, serious academic learning can sometimes take a back seat.

The resources match the strong intent to challenge students out of their comfort zones, and are individualised to address particular learning needs. Individual children's learning needs are addressed by placing them in compatible learning groups for an optimised learning experience.
Middle Primary
The middle primary years are the time when children need to start developing an inclination for study and to take ownership of their learning, under parental guidance and supervision.
We, at Melbourne Tutorials, endeavour to direct children towards conceptual enrichment in literacy and numeracy, and towards skill development, with class inputs and comprehensive practice assignments.
Students also start learning life skills related to self management, organising, and following a study routine. Individual children's learning needs are addressed by placing them in compatible learning groups for an optimised learning experience.

The same curriculum continues without a break in standard, right through to the Year 9 selective entry examination.
Upper Primary
Grades 5 and 6, where selective entry work begins in earnest and timed practice is introduced.
NAPLAN
Sat in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. The Grade 3 paper is the first formal assessment most of these children will face.
