About Melbourne Tutorials

Fifteen years of academic excellence, taught deliberately.

We are a Melbourne tutoring institute for students from Grade 1 to Year 9. Our teaching model, right from Grade 1, is built on the Selective Entry model, because academic excellence in children is nurtured with the right guidance at the right age.

Who we are

Why Melbourne Tutorials

To become academic achievers, children need an environment that is developmentally challenging and interesting, an environment that motivates them to assume ownership of their studies. That is the key to becoming successful learners.

Melbourne Tutorials specialises in tutoring, coaching and mentoring students from Grade 1 to Year 9. We offer group and individualised support to students for academic excellence. Our classes include preparing for NAPLAN and ICAS, the entrance examinations of the immensely competitive SEAL and scholarship programs, and the highly sought after Selective Entry schools of Victoria.

Academic excellence in children can be nurtured with the right guidance at the right age.
Our teaching principle

Our classes, broadly categorised as Accelerated, Advanced and Basic, aim at providing students with a stimulating and challenging learning environment well beyond the expected levels at school. Students are placed in academically compatible groups, so the pace of the room stretches everyone in it rather than holding anyone back.

We believe in establishing strong, professional relationships with our students and their parents, and we strive to challenge, motivate and achieve the learning goals we set together. Over a decade and a half of teaching in Melbourne's west, that relationship has been the constant behind every result on our honour board.

How we teach

Three things we do not compromise on

The same standard applies at every campus, at every level, in every class.

Qualified teachers, not students

Every class is taught by a qualified, experienced professional rather than a school or university student, and every one of them holds a current Working With Children Check.

Academically compatible groups

Students are placed by level, not by age alone, after an academic assessment. Small, evenly matched groups mean the pace of the room challenges every child sitting in it.

The Selective Entry model from Grade 1

Our curriculum runs ahead of school level from the very first year, so that by the time a student sits an entrance examination the standard is familiar rather than foreign.

Our people

The leadership behind the classroom

Melbourne Tutorials is directed by educators who teach, write the curriculum and run the centres themselves.
