Melbourne Tutorials is now accepting Expressions of Interest from current Year 7 students for our One-Year Selective Entry Intensive Program. This program is designed for students preparing for the 2028 Selective Entry Exam for Year 9 Entry. This is a highly focused, fast-paced and intensive program created for motivated students who are ready to commit to serious preparation in the lead-up to the Selective Entry exam.

Program Commencement
The program will commence in Term 3, 2026 and will continue through:
- Term 3, 2026
- Term 4, 2026
- Term 1, 2027
- Term 2, 2027
The program will run until the Selective Entry exam and will provide students with structured, targeted and intensive preparation across the key exam areas.
A Fast-Paced Intensive Program
Our regular Selective Entry Program is ordinarily delivered across six terms, beginning in Term 1, 2026. This One-Year Intensive Program is the final opportunity for students to join a specialised, fast-paced group that will work towards covering the curriculum normally taught across the full six-term Selective Entry Program.

Admissions & Selection Process

Please note that an entrance test is required for enrolment into this program. The entrance test will be conducted by the respective Melbourne Tutorials centre. Once the Expression of Interest has been submitted, the centre will contact parents with further information regarding the entrance test, available places and the next steps.
gavel Strong Selection Requirements
This program has very strong entry requirements due to its intensive and fast-paced nature. Students must achieve the required minimum benchmark in the entrance test to be considered for selection into the program. The benchmark and selection criteria will be determined at the sole discretion of Melbourne Tutorials. Only students who demonstrate the required level of readiness, academic ability and suitability for the pace of the program will be selected.
alt_route Option for Students Not Selected
Students who do not meet the required benchmark for the One-Year Selective Entry Intensive Program may still continue their academic journey with Melbourne Tutorials. These students may be offered the option to join the Year 7 Regular Program, subject to availability at their preferred centre. This allows students to continue building strong foundations in English, Mathematics and reasoning skills while working towards future academic goals.
Limited Places Available
As this is a specialised intensive program, places will be limited. Entry into the program will be subject to the student's entrance test result, minimum benchmark requirements and centre availability. Parents are encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Expression of Interest Required
Parents who are interested in enrolling their child are requested to complete an Expression of Interest for their preferred Melbourne Tutorials centre. Each centre will manage its own enrolment process, and families should submit their EOI to the centre where they wish their child to attend classes.
