Terms and Conditions – Selective Entry Mock Tests
These Terms and Conditions apply to all registrations for the Selective Entry Mock Tests conducted by Melbourne Tutorials (“we”, “us”, “our”). By registering a student and completing payment, the parent or guardian (“you”) agrees to these Terms on behalf of the student.
1. Registration and Payment
- 1.1 Registration is confirmed once full payment has been received.
- 1.2 Places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 1.3 Fees are non-refundable unless Melbourne Tutorials cancels the test.
- 1.4 Please ensure all registration details are entered correctly, as these will be used for communication and reporting.
- 1.5 Please note that this test is separate from the internal mock tests conducted by Melbourne Tutorials for its enrolled students.
- 1.6 Melbourne Tutorials is not obligated to arrange make-up or alternative classes for students who choose to miss their regular class to attend these external tests. Families are advised to select an alternative test date or centre that does not conflict with the student’s regular class schedule.
2. Test Day Arrangements
- 2.1 Mock tests are designed to closely resemble the structure and timing of the Victorian Selective Entry Examination, so students can experience realistic practice conditions.
- 2.2 Students are expected to follow test instructions and behave respectfully during the session.
- 2.3 Any behaviour that significantly disrupts the test or compromises fairness may result in the student being withdrawn from the session without refund.
- 2.4 Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may not be admitted, as this may disrupt other students.
3. Test Materials
- 3.1 All test papers, questions, solutions, and reports remain the intellectual property of Melbourne Tutorials.
- 3.2 For fairness to all students, test materials must not be copied, photographed, shared, or distributed in any form.
- 3.3 Test papers and solutions will not be provided in hard copy. They will be shared digitally in a view-only, non-downloadable format for the purpose of review and learning.
- 3.4 This digital access is provided for personal use only and must not be copied, shared, screen-recorded, or distributed in any form.
4. Results and Feedback
- 4.1 Results are provided for learning and practice purposes only.
- 4.2 Writing tasks are hand-marked and feedback will be provided within the timeframe advised at registration.
- 4.3 Percentiles and rankings are based on the group of students sitting the same mock test.
- 4.4 Performance in mock tests does not guarantee performance in the official Selective Entry Examination or placement in a selective school.
5. Special Requirements
- 5.1 Any medical conditions, learning needs, or accessibility requirements should be disclosed at the time of registration so we can do our best to support the student.
- 5.2 While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate disclosed needs, conditions may not be identical to those provided by ACER in the official exam.
6. Changes and Cancellations
- 6.1 If Melbourne Tutorials needs to cancel a test due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund or credit will be offered.
- 6.2 No refund can be provided for non-attendance, illness, late arrival, or withdrawal after registration.
- 6.3 Test dates, venues, or delivery mode may be adjusted if required due to circumstances beyond our control.
- 6.4 These Terms and Conditions may be changed, modified, or varied at the discretion of Melbourne Tutorials. Updated Terms and Conditions will be published on our website and will apply to future registrations.
7. Privacy
- 7.1 Personal information is collected only for the purpose of administering the mock tests and providing results.
- 7.2 Student data may be used in a de-identified way for internal benchmarking and service improvement.
- 7.3 Individual results will not be shared with third parties without parental consent, except where required by law.
8. Relationship to ACER
- 8.1 These mock tests are independently developed by Melbourne Tutorials.
- 8.2 Melbourne Tutorials is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by ACER or the Victorian Department of Education.
- 8.3 References to the Selective Entry Examination are made solely for descriptive and preparation purposes.
9. Agreement
- By registering a student, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to them on behalf of the student.
